A hotel and bar has had to refund guests after noise from student flats across the road kept them up all night.

The Sun Hotel, in Church Street, Lancaster, received 24 complaints and had to refund £850 to sleep-deprived guests after loud music, shouting and “general anti-social behaviour” kept them up until 5am.

Guests even reported seeing students running around on scaffolding attached to the new accommodation, formerly the Freemanson’s Hall, and Sun Hotel director Phil Simpson said he was worried that plans for a further 11 bedrooms attached to the same building might cause the hotel further problems.
