Two earthquakes have been recorded in the Irish Sea off the Lancashire coast.
The British Geological Survey recorded a 2.4 magnitude quake at 5.37am, 15 miles west of Fleetwood, and said it had a depth of just under two miles.
Experts also revealed a second quake, measuring 3.3, occurred at 9.58am.
Social media users in Blackpool and Fleetwood reported feeling tremors and said their homes shook.
On Twitter, Dave Rawlinson said the quake was ‘definitely’ felt in Rampside, a small village in the north west corner of Morecambe Bay near Barrow.
No damage or injuries have been reported.
There are up to 30 earthquakes in the UK each year.
