LANCASTER City bosses are to discuss the future of manager Tony Hesketh this weekend.
The manager is currently on extended leave for three months following a hip replacement operation.
Club chief executive Mick Hoyle and coach Michael Stringfellow took over first team duties until Hesketh’s return to the City dugout.
But rumours have been rife since yesterday, Thursday, that Hesketh is to be replaced.
A statement put out by the club today, Friday, said: “In response to the speculation circulating about the position of manager Tony Hesketh, it is acknowledged that there are some issues, which require discussion between the two parties, over the weekend.
“A decision will be made by no later than Monday when a further announcement will be made regarding the outcome.”
The club did not wish to comment further.
