A DIAMOND engagement ring worth £4,000 was stolen from The Midland hotel in Morecambe.

The theft took place on February 10 when the ring was accidently left in one of the rooms by a guest.

The whereabouts of the ring is currently unknown.

PC James Martin said: “I’d appeal to anybody with any information about this theft or particularly if anyone has seen this ring or been offered it for sale to come forward.”

An investigation is currently underway and a 36-year-old man is on police bail after being arrested in connection with the offence.
