A CITY dancer who found fame on a TV talent show has vowed not to give up on her dreams of stardom, despite suffering a horrific facial injury at a birthday party.
Alice Woodhouse, who took part in So You Think You Can Dance? earlier this year, was celebrating her 24th birthday with a meal at trendy London club Movida when she tripped over a step while carrying a glass.
When she fell over, shards of the glass pierced her chin, lower lip and neck, with some entering her windpipe.
She was stitched up at hospital but has been left scarred.
Alice, who moved to London to pursue her showbiz dreams after her TV turn, is now recuperating with her parents Carol and Paul at the family home in Owen Road following the incident at the Ealing club on Wednesday, October 12.
It happened just days after she had achieved a breakthrough by appearing as a dancer in pop star Pixie Lott’s latest video. And it meant that she was unable to accept an invitation to the second round of auditions for the London muscial Thriller, celebrating Michael Jackson’s work, which took place on Tuesday.
