Cyclist hurt in Morecambe

A cyclist was injured after a collision with a car in Morecambe.

The 44-year-old woman from Heysham suffered suspected head injuries and extensive bruising across her body in the incident, which happened as she was riding along Fairfield Road towards the junction with Oxcliffe Road on Wednesday, October 23. She was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary where she was detained overnight. The car involved was a Vauxhall Insignia. The road was closed for two hours as an accident investigation took place following the collision. Sergeant Tracey Ward said: “I would appeal to anybody that witnessed this collision or with any information that could assist with our investigation to contact Lancashire Police on 101.”
