A woman suffered broken fingers after she got out of her broken-down car and was struck by a fail-to-stop driver.

It happened when she opened the door of her black Toyota MR2 on the A65 on Thursday, April 10, on the road between Kirkby Lonsdale and Long Preston.

Witnesses to the incident, which happened in a gateway near Owlett Hall Farm, Austwick, at 7.50am, should call police on 101.
