A woman went on a wrecking spree around Lancaster, smashing the windows of four shops in the city centre.

Lydia Jane Johnson caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage to the win dows on May 31.

Lancaster Magistrates Court heard that Johnson, 21, of Willow Lane, Lancaster, damaged a window belonging to Home Bargains causing £800 damage.

She then went on to smash a window at New Look causing £250 worth of damage. smashed a window at Regis of unknown value andsmashed a window at Shoreway Fisheries of unknown value.

She pleaded guilty to four counts of criminal damage and breach of a suspended sentence.

Magistrates gave Johnson a community order with a six week curfew, and ordered her to pay compensation of £400 and court costs of £150. The suspended sentence of six weeks prison was extended to 18 months,
