Government cash is set to be pumped into a ground-breaking project to help Lancashire’s most vulnerable residents.

Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw won a £215,000 bid to the Home Office’s Police Innovation Fund to set up an ‘early intervention’ scheme.

‘Early action response officers’ will be established to help vulnerable residents at the earliest opportunity and prevent problems escalating. Lancashire Police will match in resources £3 million given to the initiative by the county council.
