THREE men who left a reveller needing medical treatment after launching an unprovoked attack on him have narrowly avoided prison.

The 20-year-old victim from Carnforth and his friend were enjoying a night out in Lancaster city centre on June 11 last year.

They had been chatting to their attackers on North Road before the shocking incident, which was captured on CCTV.

The victim lost a tooth after being punched and kicked in the face, while his friend suffered bruises and grazing.

The chilling footage was shown to Preston Crown Court as Joshua Dennison, 19, of Middleton Road, Heysham, John Rhodes, 21, of Granville Road, Morecambe, and Joseph Harrison, 18, of Sefton Road, Morecambe, were sentenced.

All three pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm. Rhodes also admitted actual bodily harm on the victim’s friend.
