Car owners in Garstang and Over Wyre are being warned to lock their cars after a spate of break-ins.

Police have received reports of numerous cars being broken into in and around the Garstang area including Scorton, Cabus and Catterall.

The car break-ins took place between Monday, October 24 and Tuesday, October 25.

A spokesman for Garstang and Over Wyre Police said: “We are asking that firstly you check that your car is locked and that all contents are removed or placed out of sight.

“We would also like to ask that if you do see or hear anything suspicious however trivial you think it may be then please ring us on 101 or if it’s an emergency for example you actually witness a crime in progress call 999.”
