CCTV images have been released of three men police wish to speak to after a theft from a supermarket.

Police said that at 6.20pm on September 27, three men went into the Booths store on Hala Road in Lancaster and picked up two bottles of Courvoisier brandy. They then went over to the till area and distracted the checkout attendant with a complicated request for change. While the member of staff was not looking, one of the men reached over and took over £400 of notes from the till before all three men left the shop.

Officers believe that the men were travelling in a Volkswagen Passat car in either grey or silver.

PC Stephen Kavanagh said, “I am keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened to contact us.

“We are also investigating the possibility that at least one of these men may have been involved in a similar offence at the Booths store at Lane Ends in Ashton but on that occasion, nothing was stolen.”

Anybody with any information can contact police on 101 quoting log number LC-20131007-0782.
