Shrimps fan’s three year ban

James Dickson, 23, of Baycliffe Crescent, Morecambe, received a football banning order when he appeared at Lancaster Magistrates Court on Monday.

He was convicted of a section 5 public order offence after being verbally abusive to staff at a Morecambe FC match on January 31, 2015.

He was given a three year Football Banning Order with conditions not to go to any regulated football matches at Morecambe Football Club or any other regulated football ground and not to attend those regulated football grounds two hours before or two hours after the match.

A spokesperson for Morecambe FC said: “We fully support the police in taking the strongest action possible.

“Anyone who breaks the law can expect the punishment that has been handed down in this case.”
