Four men and three women are in police custody after drugs raids on addresses in Galgate.

A total of four properties - in Main Road, Chapel Lane and Chapel Road - were searched by officers on Wednesday morning.

Four men - aged between 20 and 22 and from the Galgate area and two women, both 21, also from Galgate - were detained on suspicion of importing and being concerned in the supply of cannabis resin.

A third woman - a 20-year-old from Great Harwood - was arrested, suspected of the same offences.

Lancashire Police said a number of items relating to drugs supply had been seized during the operation, which came about after warrants were executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Detective Inspector Bev Foster, of Lancashire Police, said officers had acted on intelligence.

She encouraged people with concerns about drugs to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
