A new safety ambassador was recruited by police to hit home the importance of sticking together to stay safe among Lancaster’s student population.
‘Inspector Morph’ visited Lancaster University to encourage students to think about how they get home at night, looking out for friends and ensuring they drink responsibly.
The campus visit coincided with the university’s Fresher’s Week and the launch of new Facebook and Twitter pages for their students.
PC Ben Rooke, one of the dedicated officers for the Lancaster University campus, said; “We’re trying to make students aware of the importance of staying safe while they are at university, especially on nights out when people become more vulnerable after drinking alcohol.Myself and members of the team accompanied Inspector Morph while out and about, and it was a great way to grab the attention of the students
“Inspector Morph also posed for pictures with students, which are on the ‘Lancaster University Police’ Facebook and Twitter accounts as a way of getting them to visit the pages.”
