Police appeal after girl, 5, breaks leg in collision

Police are appealing for information after a collision in Morecambe in which a five-year-old girl was seriously injured.

The incident happened at around 5.45pm on Monday October 6 in Euston Road.

A Citroen Xsara car is believed to have been travelling in the direction of Morecambe town centre when it was involved in a collision with the child.

The girl was taken to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool and is thought to have suffered a serious break to her right leg.

The road was closed for more than two hours following the collision.

Sgt Finn Quainton of Lancashire Police’s Road Policing Team said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to get in touch so that we can establish how this incident occurred.”
