Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner is being urged to review the Constabulary’s decision not to marshal some traditional parades.

There was an all-party agreement on a motion put to Lancashire County Council by Coun Malcolm Barron, calling for new ways of dealing with the issues, which could threaten centuries of tradition.

He said churches and other organisations have been told police might be unable to marshall events owing to economic and staffing cuts.
