Plea to shop owners over eggs

Police are asking shop owners to consider refusing to sell eggs to under 16s after numerous properties were targeted by egg-throwing yobs.

Police have asked shop owners in Garstang to stop selling eggs to under 16s.

On their Facebook page, Garstang and Over Wyre Police said: “We are not ‘EGGsaggerating’ We would like to highlight the growing issue of targeted egg throwing at numerous residential properties in the Garstang and Over Wyre area.

“As it is leading up to Halloween we would like to ask that if you are a shop owner please consider not selling eggs to anyone under the age of 16 years.

“If you are aware of anyone using eggs for mischief or committing criminal damage or if you are the target of this anti social behaviour please let us know and consider ringing 101 or emailing the team on [email protected].”
