Nurse looked at child porn

A NURSE who downloaded child pornography blamed his crime on work-related stress, a court heard.

Ian Milligan downloaded the material while looking at adult porn and clicking on ‘pop ups’ that appeared on his computer.

The 49-year-old has now been placed on two years supervision by a judge at Preston Crown Court, and his sentence will include an internet sex offender treatment programme.

Milligan, of Schoolhouse Lane, Halton, had pleaded guilty to 10 counts of making an indecent image of a child.

Francis McEntee, prosecuting last Thursday, said a warrant was executed at the defendant’s address in December 2010.

He said this was the result of a police operation concerning a website that had been corrupted to give access to indecent images.

Mr McEntee said: “Those who managed the site very properly noted the difficulties and reserved the details of all the computer addresses of those who visited the site.”

That information led to the execution of a search warrant at Milligan’s home.
