A woman missing from a friend’s home was found on the beach by police.
Police said they were called to the beach opposite Aldi on Marine Road Central in Morecambe at 6pm on Thursday.
The woman had been reported missing at midday.
The 29-year-old from Birmingham, who has mental health issues, had drunk alcohol and taken some pills when she was found.
The RNLI lifeboat was called out but was stood down before launching after police discovered the woman on the beach near The Midland hotel.
She was taken to hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson for the RNLI said the woman was thought to have walked out into the bay.
