A BODY discovered in a pond on farmland in Leicestershire has been identified as that of missing Lancaster man Stuart Taylor.
The body was found on Sunday in a pond on a pig farm in Foxton, close to a canal which police dredged during their search for the 47-year-old before Christmas.
DNA tests on Monday confirmed the identity as Mr Taylor, who was last seen on December 13 in Market Harborough after visiting a medical practice with his partner Lorraine Templeton.
Mr Taylor, who grew up in Lancaster and went to Our Lady’s RC High School, had been living in Grantham with Miss Templeton.
Miss Templeton spent days following his disappearance handing out posters and leaflets in the area. She also issued a plea to people in the Lancaster district to look out for him.
