A man was recovering from serious injuries in hospital this week after what police described as a “hit and run” in Morecambe.
He was hit by a white car, possibly a Volvo, which failed to stop on Green Street at around 4.30pm on Monday, December 16.
It then made off down Townely Street.
Lancashire Police said the man suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary where he remained on Tuesday, receiving treatment.
Emergency services attended the scene and the road was closed for around three hours while accident investigators examined the scene.
Officers said they were investigating the circumstances of the collision and “the events leading up to it”.
They have issued an appeal to anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
A statement issued this week by Lancashire Police read: “If anyone witnessed the collision, or has any information that could be of assistance, please contact police on 101 quoting log number LC-20131216-0853.”
