Man has ear bitten off in vicious attack

A man has had a large portion of his ear bitten off in a vicious attack in Morecambe.

Detectives are appealing for information after the 25-year-old man from Morecambe was assaulted some time between 10pm on Friday 17 October and 1am on Saturday 18 October between Westgate and Raglan Road in Morecambe.

The man has been cut to the eye area with a sharp implement and had his right ear bitten.

He was treated at Royal Preston Hospital where he received numerous stitches. He has since been discharged.

DC Tris Hardwick said: “This was a particularly vicious attack where the victim has ended up with serious injuries.

“I would encourage anyone who may have seen the assault to contact us.”
