Man dies after Heysham caravan park incident

A 42-year-old man has died after he was knocked down by a car in Heysham last weekend.

Paul Clark, from Heysham, passed away at Royal Preston Hospital after suffering serious head injuries when he was struck at Ocean Edge Caravan Park on Saturday September 20.

William O’Mara, 45, of Norland Drive, Morecambe, has been charged with a number of counts and is due to appear at Preston Crown Court on Monday October 6.

O’Mara made his first appearance at Lancaster Magistrates on September 25.

He has currently been charged with attempted murder on Kevin McNulty, Joshua McNulty and Kevin Elliston.

He is also charged with an section 18 wounding with intent on Sara O’Mara, a section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent on Andra Bowden and Virginijus Oras and an assault on PC Topping and failed to provide a specimen for analysis.

Police were called to Ocean Edge around 7pm Saturday evening after a report that a 32-year-old woman had sustained serious head injuries.

A post-mortem examination will take place on Mr Clark and the charges will be reviewed following consultation with the CPS.

Lancashire Police’s Force Major Investigation Team are currently investigating.
