A STOLEN Land Rover ploughed into a parked car in Lancaster following an M6 police chase this week.

Lancashire police said they were informed about the vehicle, believed to have been stolen from the Cheshire area, by the North West Motorway Patrol Group. The county force got sight of it near to J31a, Preston East, at 10.10am on Tuesday.

It was monitored travelling up the motorway at normal speed, but when the driver was requested to stop, the vehicle sped up and left the motorway at J34, heading towards Lancaster.

The Land Rover then lost control on a bend in Bulk Road and collided with a parked car.
