Lancaster man hit with bottle

POLICE are appealing for information after a 31-year-old man was hit with a bottle in an unprovoked attack in Lancaster.

The victim, who is from the city, was at the entrance to the underpass which runs between Sainsbury’s and the skate park off Parliament Street at about 10pm on October 3, when he was approached from behind and hit over the head.

The offender ran off from the scene and the man didn’t see who attacked him.

He was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary with a cut to his head which required three staples.

PC Sally Ward said: “This was a nasty and unprovoked attack and I would urge anybody who was in the area at the time who could help us with our investigation to come forward.”
