Lancaster man charged with handling stolen goods

A LANCASTER man has appeared in court charged with handling stolen goods.

Mark Freeman, 44, of Slaidburn Drive, pleaded not guilty at Lancaster Magistrates’ Court last Thursday, to dishonestly assisting in the retention, removal, disposal or realisation of an Ifor Williams trailer worth £1,468.49 for the benefit of another, knowing or believing it to be stolen.

The incident happened between February 1, 2008, and September 21, 2011, in Kendal.

Freeman also pleaded not guilty to a similar charge involving a Stihl floor saw and Honda generator, worth a total of £2,300, from Grange-over-Sands, between March 1 and September 21 this year.

On the same date, he will also appear before Lancaster magistrates for trial after pleading not guilty to resisting a police officer.
