Hest Bank man assaulted in Bowness

A man from Hest Bank was left with a fractured nose and broken teeth after an ‘unprovoked’ assault on the promenade at Bowness.

The 33-year-old victim was walking with a friend when he was approached by an unknown man.

The man removed his shirt and punched the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground.

The assault occurred at around 3.30am on August 17.

The attacker was believed to be with two or three other men at the time.
