A dad has admitted the manslaughter of his partner and six-year-old son.
Paul Chadwick, 34, of Lowlands Road, Bolton-le-Sands, admitted killing Lisa Clay, 40, and youngster Joseph Chadwick on the grounds of diminished responsibility but denied their murders.
The mother and her son were found dead at their home, a dormer bungalow on April 9. Both had suffered multiple stab wounds.
Chadwick, who wore a beige polo shirt, appeared at Preston Crown Court via a video link from Guild Lodge secure mental health unit in Preston.
He spoke to confirm his pleas and to indicate he understood the proceedings.
Prosecuting, Stuart Denney said the pleas were acceptable to the Crown.
Chadwick will appear for sentence on October 30.
Det Supt Andy Murphy said: “ It is a very tragic case and our thoughts are with the family.”
