A FORMER store worker died after being attacked with a broken bottle at a party where pop star Jessie J had just performed.

Philip Sherriff suffered horrific injuries when he was stabbed in the neck in a London nightclub.

The 37-year-old father-of-two had worked as a supervisor at Morrisons supermarket on Central Drive, Morecambe, in the mid-to-late 1990s.

Tracy Brown, a Morecambe town councillor and former Morrisons colleague, paid tribute to Mr Sherriff on Facebook, calling him “amazing...the best kind of man you could have known”.

Telecoms worker Mr Sherriff, 37, who lived in Scorton near Garstang, was attacked with a broken bottle at an invitation-only event thrown by smartphone giant BlackBerry in Pulse nightclub, Southwark, on April 4.

He died on Sunday in Royal London Hospital after a four-day battle to save his life. His wife, Jane, was at his bedside.
