TWO thugs who threatened to saw off the fingers of a “vulnerable” teenager unless he gave them cash have each been sentenced to 20 weeks in a young offenders institution.
Ingleton Drive, Lancaster, and Martin Woodburn, 20, of Gressingham Drive, Lancaster, both admitted charges of blackmail and assault at Lancaster Crown Court.
It follows an incident in Heaton Road, Lancaster, where the pair tied up a man in his home and threatened to cut his fingers off. The 19-year-old – described by police as “vulnerable” – was befriended by McGrath and Woodburn over a number of months last year.
The pair took advantage of the situation to hold parties in the teenager’s house.
On September 19 last year, a party was held at the house, but the two men conned their way back into the property once everyone else had left, claiming they had left their car keys.
