A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car ended up down an embankment off a major North Lancashire road.
Police, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Ambulance Service all attended the incident on the Heysham bypass.
The collision happened on the stretch of road near to the Middleton Road roundabout at around 7pm on Thursday, said police.
On arrival, emergency services found a red Peugeot 206 had gone down an embankment with two people inside.
A 28-year-old man who was behind the wheel of the car was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment for what were described as minor injuries.
Later, officers arrested him on suspicion of drink driving.
The passenger also suffered minor injuries.
Lorries and cars were turned back while the accident was investigated, said an eyewitness.
The road was closed for three hours until 10pm.
