A round-up of crime-in-brief

A man texting on his mobile phone had it snatched from his hand by a thief, police said. The victim was sitting on the sea wall close to Regent Road in Morecambe at 10am on September 19.

A man approached him and snatched his phone from his hand before running off in the direction of Heysham.

The victim, aged 30, has a broken foot so he could not chase after the man.

The thief is described as 18 to 25-years-old, 5ft9, wearing a plain black hooded top, blue jeans and white trainers.

Call police on 101.

Police warn of jewellery thief

Police are alerting residents in Carnforth and rural areas to a woman responsible for committing sneak in burglary’s specifically targeting jewellery.
