Police appeal after assault

A man from Hest Bank was left with a fractured nose and broken teeth after an ‘unprovoked’ assault on the promenade at Bowness. The 33-year-old victim, was walking with a friend when he was approached by an unknown man.The man removed his shirt and punched the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground.The assault occurred at 3.30am on August 17. Anyone with information is asked to contact Cumbria Police on 101.

Trial date set for Morecambe man

A man accused of three charges of criminal damage and two charges of assault appeared at Lancaster Magistrates court. Gary Lee Kane, 32, of Burford Road, Morecambe, pleaded not guilty to all five charges. Mr Kane was given conditional bail and is due to stand trial on October 23.
