Woman jailed for sentence breach

A woman who breached a suspended jail term she was given for a string of thefts – by carrying out more thefts – has been jailed by Preston magistrates court. Jeanette Putley, 40, of no fixed abode, has been jailed for a total of 140 days. She was convic ted of stealing a phone, keys and ring from a man in Morecambe during the term of a suspended sentence made in August last year. She was found guilty by a bench, following a short trial.

Police warn about email scams

Police are warning about two email scams which are in circulation. The first is from Neil Trotter Donations,asking for personal information to be forwarded to share a lottery win. The second is titled Neighbourhood Safety Warning, using scare tactics about sex offender activity. Don’t click on the links, say police.
