POLICE want to trace two women after a pensioner had her handbag stolen from a bus.

The 80-year-old victim was travelling on the number 50 Stagecoach bus from her home in Nether Kellet to Lancaster Bus Station at around 3.40pm on Thursday, August 2.

She got off the bus at Bridge Street but realised that she had left her bag.

Police want to speak with two women who were on the bus at the time of the offence and exited at Lancaster Bus Station.

The victim’s bag was a beige coloured, soft leather handbag with studs on one side, a handle on top and zip opening.

It contained a small amount of money, bus pass, driving licence and keys.

PC Peter Bennett from Lancaster Police said: “I’d ask anybody that recognises either of these women to come forward and contact Lancashire Police on 101 quoting crime reference BB1202957.”
