THREE men appeared in court on Monday, after a car stolen in Lancaster at the weekend ended up crsahing following a police chase through Lancashire and Cumbria.
The men were all arrested just after midnight on Saturday morning, after their black Vauxhall Corsa, thought to have been stolen after a burglary in Lancaster, hit a wall between Grange and Lindale on the B5277.
The car was chased by police until it crashed near the entrance to Grange-over-Sands Golf Club.
Martin Turnbull, 20, of Friar Street, Lancaster, was charged with burglary, theft, driving whilst over the drink drive limit, dangerous driving, driving without insurance or a licence, aggravated vehicle taking and vehicle damage. Daniel Boyle, 19, of Dunkeld Street, Lancaster, was charged with burglary, theft, aggravated vehicle taking and vehicle damage.
Both have been remanded in custody for an interim hearing at Lancaster Magistrates Court on October 5 and are due to be committed to Preston Crown Court on November 7 for a jury trial.
