A number of rural properties have been targeted by thieves in a spate of burglaries.

Police said that between 11.50pm on June 14 and 12.30am on June 15, there was an attempted burglary at Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club.

Two padlocks on a garage were damaged after burglars gained entry.

The alarm was activated and the burglars fled the scene.

Two Honda quadbikes, an Ifor Williams trailer and 20 litres of petrol were stolen from a property at Kearstwick, Carnforth.

The burglary occurred between 12.15pm and 1.20pm on June 18.

A Makita petrol driven hand stone saw was stolen between 6pm on June 15 and 7.30am on June 16 from a property at Elterwater.

Between 4pm on June 13 and 9.30am on June 17, burgalrs got into a property on Black Lane, Sedbergh.

Once inside they stole 25 litres of diesel, but failed in their attempt to steal a mini digger.
