Bridge closed after fire

A bridge had to be closed after a motorbike burst into flames.

Firefighters were called to Greyhound Bridge in Lancaster at about 2.30am on Saturday by a biker, who was travelling home from work.

Crews said the motorbike cut out, because of what is believed to be an electrical fault, and then set on fire while on the bridge.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the biker phoned the fire service.

Nobody was injured.
