Booze thrown over train passenger

A man had red wine thrown over him whilst on a train at Arnside.

British Transport Police has released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to after the incident on board the train.

Investigating officer PC Brett Greenwood said: “A man, who was accompanied by a group of three other people, sat opposite the victim drinking red wine.

“Once the train arrived at Arnside, two women from the group got off the train.

“As the two men made their way to the doors one of them threw a cup of red wine over the victim and his laptop.

“This was a completely unprovoked attack and will not be tolerated.

“Everyone has the right to travel in safety and without fear of abuse or behaviour like this.”

British Transport Police is urging the man captured in the CCTV or anyone who recognises him to come forward to help with their enquiries. The incident occurred at 11.45pm on Monday, February 2.
