Thousands of pounds worth of designer children’s wear was stolen from a shop in Morecambe.

Police said that between 1.30pm on February 7 and 9am on February 9, burglars smashed a window at the rear of the Humpty Dumpty Boutique on Pedder Street in Morecambe and got into the premises.

They removed a cash till and all the clothing stock on display in the shop and left with £6,000 worth of goods.

The owner of the shop said: “I was hoping I would wake up this morning to find it had all been a bad dream. “They took everything out of the shop, just feeling sick now.”

A friend of the owner of the shop posted on Facebook: “The Humpty Dumpty boutique in Morecambe has been burgled over the weekend, please could my friends keep an eye out on the sales sites for any volumes of designers childrens wear being sold and inform the police.

“It’s hard enough to run small businesses with out this happening.”
