A PROLIFIC shoplifter is challenging a move to ban her from parts of Lancaster, claiming it would breach her human rights.
Police want to keep Shellane Forsyth, 32, out of the city centre between 8am and 9pm as part of an anti-social behaviour order (ASBO).
The ASBO applied for at Lancaster Magistrates Court last Friday also included a ban on Forsyth entering shops in the centre and acting or inciting others to act in an anti-social manner likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
All three conditions were imposed for one week as part of an interim ASBO, but the ban on her entering the city centre could be lifted as part of a full hearing at 2pm tomorrow, Friday, October 28.
The court heard Forsyth, of Marine Road, Morecambe, would be abusive to staff while committing her crimes, and she would continue her threatening behaviour when she saw them in the street.
