A MAN has been given an ASBO banning him from shops in Lancaster city centre following a campaign of harassment against workers in the city’s stores.

Benjamin Lunn, 26, of Briery Street, Lancaster, was given the anti-social behaviour order after city magistrates heard how he had subjected shop staff to persistent abuse and threats while he was trying to shoplift.

The city centre neighbourhood police team presented evidence to show that Lunn would intimidate shop assistants by glaring at them, making verbal threats and approaching them while they were with their children out of work.
