Police have release the image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with two separate thefts of alcohol from a Lancaster supermarket.

A man was captured on CCTV stealing boxes of alcohol from the shelves of Sainsbury’s in Penny Street at around 2.55pm on March 9 and then again at about 1.40pm on April 3.

Police have now released the images of a man they wish to speak to about the incidents.

PC Peter Bennett, from Lancaster Police, said: “Whilst the alcohol may have been part of a promotional display, nevertheless, the male has still stolen the alcohol.

“Although in this instance the suspect was not challenged and no violence was offered, we would ask the public to study the images released and I would urge anybody that recognises the individual to get in contact with us.”

Anybody with any information can call police on 101 quoting log number LC-20140403-0941 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
