Appeal after fail to stop collision in Cockerham

Witnesses are being sought after a man was hit by a car which failed to stop at the scene.

The 26 year old man was cycling along Crimbles Lane in Cockerham when he was hit by a car, thought to be a Silver Peugeot 406 estate.

He was knocked from his bike and suffered a broken collar bone.

PC Bryony Fell of Lancaster Police is appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.

“I am appealing for anybody with any information regarding this incident to contact us as soon as possible - the victim has been left with a serious injury and I would urge anyone with any information to get in touch.

“I am also directly appealing for the driver to contact me.

“The driver would have been aware of the collision and may be able to offer an explanation as to why they had failed to stop.

“They should do the right thing and come forward as soon as possible.”
