Appeal after assault in Morecambe bar

A man was knocked unconscious during an assault at a bar in Morecambe.

Police are appealing for information after the incident at Smokey O’Connor’s bar in Morecambe Street, between 2.15am and 2.45am on Saturday, September 12.

The 53-year-old local man was drinking in the bar when it is thought that he was assaulted by an unknown man and knocked unconscious.

The man returned home before realising the extent of his injuries and was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

He was treated for a serious black eye and a broken left ankle which will require surgery.

PC Adele Laffan of Morecambe Police said: “I would urge anyone that may have witnessed how the victim came about his injuries to call 101 quoting log number 227 of September 12.”
