A group of women will be running for charity next month when they take part in a 5km fun run along Lancaster Quay.

The run has been organised by Lancaster Women’s Running Group’s Sadie McKeand and Liz Edmondson and all proceeds will go to Barbardo’s.

It is hoped the race will become an annual event.

The women-only flat 5km road race starts at the Millennium Bridge on St George’s Quay at 11am on Sunday, March 23. Entry to the event is £10 with advance entries closing on March 10. Entry on the day costs £12.

Pre and post-race facilities will be available at the Wagon & Horses on the quay.

LWRG is also on the look out for new members.
