Could you offer a home to someone who needs long-term care?

Lancashire County Council’s Shared Life Service is looking for people who would enjoy sharing the pleasures of family and community life with someone with disabilities or an older person who is unable to live on their own.

Shared Lives is looking to recruit carers who can provide long-term placements.

Mike Schofield, Shared Lives service manager, said: “There is no such thing as a typical Shared Lives carer. In ! fact our carers come from a wide variety of backgrounds.

“It doesn’t matter whether you are married, single or living with someone, or whether you have children. “The main thing is that people have a spare furnished bedroom for the person you support to live in, together with a huge amount of enthusiasm, commitment and patience.”

To find out more about becoming a Shared Lives carer, phone 01257 516036 or email sharedlives@lancashire.gov.uk.
