A man who died after being hit by a freight train on the railway line south of Lancaster last week has been named as Antony Goodier, 70, of Winmarleigh.
The man was killed when he was hit by a train at Bruna Hill, near Garstang, last Wednesday.
The incident was reported to British Transport Police at 1.52pm and is being treated as non-suspicious.
Trains were cancelled between Lancaster and Preston after the incident, which was the second of its kind in three weeks, following the death of a man at Oubeck, just south of Lancaster, on September 5.
An inquest into Mr Goodier’s death has been opened and adjourned.
