It has been quite a year for the Lancaster Guardian and for the Lancaster district.
Earlier in 2013 we relaunched the paper and hopefully you have enjoyed the results.
There have been several huge developments for Lancaster and surrounding areas in 2013.
It has been wonderful to see Lancaster Castle finally open to the people of the city and visitors. Thousands have flocked to the castle and we expect it to be an even bigger draw in 2014.
After many years in the planning, work has started on the M6 link road and over the coming weeks we will be reporting on its progress.
The Guardian’s Save Our Hospice campaign will continue throughout 2014 and we would like as many of our readers as possible to get involved with supporting this worthy appeal.
Other developments currently taking place include the Luneside East scheme, the redevelopment of the old Moor Hospital site, the remodelling of the city’s indoor market site for a large store, the proposed redevelopment of Morecambe’s Frontierland site for housing and retail uses as well as various projects at Lancaster University.
Exciting times lie ahead.
Happy New Year to all!
